For me, as a little boy, it was the most fascinating of objects. When not being worn by my grandfather while he was out farming, it hung in the storage room on his back porch. To this day, I regret that I let him pass on without ever discovering the origins of that battered old pith helmet.
But no matter; for it served its purposes well. The primary one, of course, was simply to protect his venerable old head from the sun. But equally important, it served to inspire me, his small grandson, whenever I surreptitiously put it on and envisioned myself off to yet another corner of the globe on some far flung adventure.
Over the years, I have now had the privilege to see a fair portion of that world; as well as to undertake a real life adventure or two of my own along the way. All combined, these things have now led me to become a storyteller. And as a grandfather myself, my hope is now to inspire my own grandsons as my grandfather did me.
Accordingly, I have now completed my first two novels; and I am well underway on several more. In time, you will find them all available right here on my website.
